2011 Christmas Home Tour

December 22, 2011

With Christmas only a few sleeps away, I thought I would share our 2011 Christmas Home Tour. This is a picture-heavy post, so grab a blanket and a cup of coffee and enjoy the show.

The outside of The 236 shines so bright with warm white lights….

Lush wreaths and Season’s Greetings welcome you home…

Grapevine reindeer, fragrant greenery from the garden and a handmade crate sit by the front door…

A poinsettia, just like my Dad used to give me when I was younger, adds a festive touch to the foyer…

Mason’s photo with Santa brings a smile to your face and the green ornaments in the glass cloche add the right amount of sparkle…

The new bannister is dressed for its first Christmas with glittering ornaments and lights…

The living room is decorated with golds, reds and greens…

At night, the tree glows and shimmers…

The “mantel” is decorated with vintage finds, like old milk bottles and window shutters…

The silver Pottery Barn reindeer (a gift from my Dad) sits pretty amongst greenery and candlelight…

Pine cones, silver bells, red berries and glittering epsom salt “snow” surround the sweet smells of a vanilla candle…

The live boxwood wreath (made by yours truly) adds an elegant touch to the mirror…

The Royal Doulton Santa (another gift from Dad) sits in the corner taking requests from good little boys and girls…

The “vintage” tree in the family room is adorned with handmade treasures and sentimental Hallmark ornaments from my Mom…

It’s also the perfect spot for a nighttime snooze under the lights…

The handmade treasures and collector ornaments bring back fond memories of Christmas past…

And, there you have it — our 2011 Christmas Home Tour. I hoped you enjoyed it, as much as Ted and I do. Our house has never felt more cozy and warm. It makes me wish Christmas was here all year round.

From all of us at The 236, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Thanks Martina! This is the first Christmas where we have gone all out on the Christmas decor. Normally we have too many renovations going on!

Hey Michelle! Merry belated Christmas!!! Your decorations look GREAT! How cool that you and your husband are able to be in the house that he grew up in, but make it completely your own! I definitely want to follow the process! For some reason, I could find your GFC widget to follow (could be my computer). Let me know where it is and I’ll stop back by and follow! :)

Hi Heather, thank you for the sweet note. Thanks for dropping by! I haven’t set up GFC on the blog yet, but I’d love if you follow along regardless. You can subscribe via email or through Google Reader if you use it. Thanks again for visiting! Glad to have you! :)

If I told you I have that EXACT SAME reindeer candle holder, would you believe me?! Love it :)

Love it! I got that reindeer so long ago and I still enjoy decorating with it year after year. I think it was the first “adult” Christmas decoration I ever received!
